Caregivers

It is often the case that in taking care of others, whether you are a doctor, bodyworker, parent, teacher, etc., that we forget about our own health.  In order to help support our patients, children, etc. we must do what is necessary to maintain our own energy as well as emotional, mental and physical aspects of self.  We must be rich before we give to the poor, so to speak. Try to eat well, practice Qigong or other similar practices, exercise and make time to relax.

The last one is probably the hardest.  With financial demands and so much we want to accomplish and all those we wish to give our time to, we drain our own energy, so we must make time to replenish.    I know that this is something that I am also guilty of sometimes.  Simply by taking an hour or so daily to do nothing, this means no reading, talking on the phone, or surfing the internet, just sitting we can begin replenish our Qi.  This can significantly improve our treatment sessions and reduce the feeling of being drained at the end of the day.  There is very little that we can’t put off until tomorrow, so do not make excuses, make changes to improve your well-being.
